Close to the ground
Near the ground, the garden changes scale. Moss softens the base of stone and timber; small differences in light become easy to notice on its surface.
This photograph was made in Kyoto. The exact garden remains to be confirmed, so I have left its name out of the public text. The visible details are enough to describe the image without attaching it to an uncertain place.
The frame asks for a slower kind of looking. A broad view might organize the whole garden at once. Here attention remains with one corner, where material and light meet on a much smaller scale.
